Ps...

Also forgot to say, I harvested another carrot. This time it was about maybe 10cm long. Tasty.
The mouse in a nut arrived. It's shit. Will give it to charity. Someone might love it?
And there's an actual massive shit that's appeared on our decking. Photos to follow.

The good life (crop 'til you drop)

Too high to reach

Apple and Blackberry crumble - it's a hit!

Worm holes
Today I lived off the land. I gathered some of the hundreds of apples from our garden (and pinched a few of the juicier ones hanging over from next door). Then I went to mums and picked a load of blackberries to add to the ones I discovered growing over our shed roof. I accidentally destroyed a massive spiders' web in the process but the spider survived unscathed. I said sorry. I think he accepted my apology.
After a quick nip to the shops to buy some other non-garden-growing materials, I made a Gary Rhodes crumble. It was a triumph!
Tomorrow I am going to try baking an apple cake to make use of all the windfall before it starts rotting. Honestly, I feel like applauding myself!

For monkey and cat fans everywhere...

Monkey adopts kitten. It is true.

Kangaroo legs!

Now this is my kind of news story.

Mabel nips!

Been feeding Mabel and Olive for mum. Mabel is a real nipster. In the space of about 10 minutes she'd chewed a saucepan handle, a packed lunch box, some keys and my fingers. But you can't be cross - just look at that cute wishbone face!

In a nutshell

I'm in love with a nut

Realised what has been missing from my life - a mouse in a nut. Don't worry, I've now rectified the situation with this beauty. Sam thinks it's a waste of money. Impossible. It only cost 99p!

What's new?

I've been reading a friends blog and it's really good. Lots of exciting things happen and there are loads of lovely pictures. It made me sad for this blog, as I generally have absolutely nothing of any interest to report on. Actually, make that never. What'd be good right now is if I could say "Well hey, things are about to change. Buckle up and get ready for a classic!" Unfortunately I just have some gardening business for you...

August highlights: Beautiful Cosmos

August lowlights: Mushrooms on my lawn!

Growing carrots. Kind of.

Simply delicious

Sadly this is the carrot I grew. I had it with my dinner. It didn't last long. But even though it was only two bites, it was still the best thing on my plate.

The mighty Hercules!

The granny-mobile

Yeah!

Double yeah!

Today I went all the way across London to buy this wonderful, folding Hercules bike (with trendy tartan saddlebag) from an 81 year old sex pest.
